Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery

The neurology and neurosurgery department specializes in the care of animals with many of the same types of neurologic diseases seen in human medicine. These can be complex conditions that require advanced methods for diagnosis, such as MRI and cerebrospinal fluid collection, and surgical treatments, to include cutting-edge methods of spinal fixation. We also provide long-term management of medical neurologic conditions. Bridger Veterinary Specialists off ers the most advanced equipment available for the care of pets with neurologic disease. This in turn allows for optimal care of our patients

Dr. Robert Bergman leads the Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery service. He is a board-certified neurologist with over 20 years of experience in the specialty. To provide a complete approach and the best care for your pet, the neurology department is an integrated part of Bridger Veterinary Specialists. There is support from board-certified specialists in general surgery, internal medicine, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and diagnostic imaging. The service is further supported by a dedicated group of emergency doctors and hospitalists who provide 24-hour care

  • Diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory brain disease, such as MUE (Meinigoencephalitis of Unknown Etiology)

  • Diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disease, such as myasthenia gravis
  • Surgical treatment of complex spinal malformations utilizing advanced methods of spinal stabilization, including pedicle screws and rods
